A Quick And Easy DJI Osmo Mobile 2 Setup!

[the_ad id=”20″] So in this article, we are going to be going over a quick and easy DJI Osmo Mobile 2 setup that we feel is the quickest and easiest way to get your Osmo Mobile 2 ready to go. Although it will likely take a few minutes longer than usual the first few times you go through this process, once you have run through it a few times, it quickly becomes second nature. We feel once you are used to setting your gimbal up, you will be able to get through it in a minute or to and be ready to go.

We just want to clarify that this setup process is for the DJI Osmo Mobile 2, not the DJI Osmo Pocket. They are different devices and do have slightly different setup procedures. We just wanted to point this out in case you have found this article when looking for help with your Osmo Pocket.

Confirm The Charge

Although your Osmo Mobile 2 may hold a charge when you unbox it, it is always a good idea to charge it fully prior to use. To do this, simply plug the USB to Micro USB charger into your Osmo Mobile 2 and allow it to charge to full. While charging the battery level indicators on the Osmo will blink, when the battery is fully charged the LEDs will stop charging and stay a steady white.

Mount Your Mobile

Simply adjust the mobile grips on the head of the Osmo Mobile 2 as required to fit your smartphone into the head of the gimbal. Ensure that the bottom of your phone, when held vertically, is closest to the tilt access of the gimbal when mounted. You can losen the balance adjustment knob at the rear of the gimbal head to adjust the fully adjustable arms on the head of the Osmo Mobile 2 left or right as required to ensure that your smartphone is correctly mounted.

Keep moving the arms either left or right until your smartphone is horizontal and stays in this position naturally without you holding it in place. This means that the head of the gimbal and your smartphone is now balanced correctly and prepped for use. At this stage, tighten the balance adjustment knob to hold the adjustable arms in place to keep your smartphone balanced during use.

Next tilt the gimbal head downwards so the face of your smartphone is facing the floor and adjust the position of the mobile phone holder as required until the phone will stay level in this position too.

Powering Up

At this stage, you are able to power your DJI Osmo Mobile 2 up and go about your business recording all of your video footage as required. The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 is an excellent bit of kit that is able to provide some of the best image stabilization for smartphones and can make a great smartphone accessory.
